Brisbane City Council is sponsoring a number of Free workshops within local parks, conducted by David King's Taekwondo Academy.

Everyday we leave our homes and journey through the world, we may be going to the shops, work, visiting friends, exercising etc.; by doing this we are placing ourselves in possibly life threatening situations. An aggressively violent attack can be aimed at anyone - male or female, young or old; at anytime and most likely happen when we least expect it.

Have you ever been in a situation where you or your loved ones were in danger and you felt unable to defend them?

    School

We have all heard the horror stories of children gone missing, children attacked and children abused. It is an on going fear that every parent must face every day. How do you protect your child? What can you do? It is every parents/caregivers responsibility to give their children the skills and knowledge to face these unwanted situations. And the earlier you start the better.

What does every child need? Basic self-defence. The ability to know when they are in a dangerous situation and what to do when faced with it. Confidence is also a key. The ability to know that when danger presents itself you can react. David Kings Taekwondo can give your child the needed tools to recognize a harmful situation and the basic skills to react to it.

    Customer Relations, Conflict Management

Preparing your staff to be courteous, considerate, etc... can depend on who you employ, what you expect of them, the type of training and experience they have and how versatile they can be in unexpected situations.

It is never easy to avoid a conflict that you have caused through the use of bad/rude attitude/vocabulary/actions. If you add a genuine concern from a patron that believes they have been unfairly treated, this can be the same as adding petrol to a fire, the explosion will occur. In any business dealing the patron will not return, will speak of their bad experience and any onlookers may also do the same. How much will this cost you? Businesses can be destroyed by this!

This is not good for your businesses health

Your business is only as strong as the face that greets your clients and how your clients are treated in return.

On the flip side can your employees take control of a complaint situation? EG - I recently watched an altercation where the patrons a coulple approx 40yrs were directed into the wrong area, after 20 minutes they came back, found the supervisor and got abused, the supervisor walked off to chat with friends and left the junior to deal with the problem. It's things like this you wish the employer could witness. Is it a one of instance or does this happen on a regular basis? How many future clients are lost through bad conflict management? If the same instance was treated differently would the client come back?

If a client is treated in the correct manner when complaining they will generally think they have won and will come back for future business.
